Risen from the dead, Mommy returns to haunt Quebec to take revenge on the living. Horrified by the world today, this undead grandmother dreams of restoring a bygone golden age. To achieve this, she transforms her ideological opponents into zombies, enlisting them in a thoroughly fascist social project. By turns a martyr, a pop star, and a tyrant, Mommy morphs to seduce the crowds.
In this political satire taking the form of a rap show, Olivier Choinière subverts theatrical conventions to highlight the rise of reactionary discourse. Blending storytelling, lip-syncing, original songs, choreography, and gory special effects, the play draws the audience into a world where the undead seize power, guided by a live DJ with a messianic aura.
