What if, one day, a little pea started thinking for itself, outside the box? An imperious clown, guardian of history and her vegetable garden, discovers this little survivor from a refugee camp and decides to help him. Through mountains and wonders, laughter and rivers, hopping and twists and turns, she tries to discover where this little pea comes from and who his people are. A true melodrama in five scenes, featuring a head of lettuce and a few pinches of breadcrumbs! “ “We don’t know where we’re going; we only know where we come from.” This poetic, tragicomic, and delightfully absurd tale blends object theater with clowning and visual arts. In a delicate, vivid, and joyfully chaotic way, it explains to young children what it means to be uprooted and isolated. The stage world, composed of handmade characters and everyday objects, takes shape as the quest unfolds. Each scene crystallizes into an image that is “framed,” allowing the audience to visit the exhibition of these works at the end of the performance.
