About
Winter 2009. Iannicko N’Doua, then a theater student, arrives in Côte d’Ivoire. A father and brothers and sisters—whom he has known little or not at all—are waiting for him. Between Sainte-Thérèse and Abidjan, the culture shock is intense. How, then, can he bridge the distance, set aside his judgments, and put 20 years of absence behind him?
Iannicko N’Doua presents his first play here, directed by his longtime collaborator Marc Beaupré. Far from the clichés to which Africa is often condemned, *Neige sur Abidjan* is an intimate work, to be sure, but one that helps renew the genre of autofiction by blurring the lines between present and past experiences.
This production bursts with style and blends the elements that shape and define us: uncontrollable bursts of laughter, outbursts of anger, emotional shocks, flashes of insight, and the hip-swinging rhythms of coupé-décalé.
The activity takes place in all weather conditions, unless safety is compromised
