About
Silvinha and Flavia Nascimento’s passion and zest for life are contagious. Together as part of the Forró das Comadres project—named in homage to João Silva’s song—they light up the stage, radiating their energy to the audience. Powerful and in perfect harmony, these three generous women bring to life a modern, uninhibited style of forró that remains deeply rooted in the folk traditions of Brazil’s Northeast. Accentuating the artists’ warm voices, the playful accordion, the driving zabumba drum, and the spirited triangle spur each other on in a fast tempo that invites the audience to dance.
