In his own words, his songs are “like the meticulous craftsmanship of a jeweler in his workshop” (France Info Guyane, 2026). For over thirty years, with his guitar slung over his shoulder, Chris Combette has been swinging—with the wisdom of the heart—through reggae, biguine, calypso, bossa nova, and jazz, crafting music of rare finesse, attentive to words, rhythms, and silences. This summer in Montreal, he’ll reunite with an audience he’s cherished since his first performance at Nuits d’Afrique in 2004 to share a gentle and generous evening, tinged with humanity, memory, and hope to be preserved.
