About
Archipels Sonores is a concert conceived as a shifting landscape: islands of sound, carried by improvising musicians, that come together, drift apart, and reform to create a living archipelago. Inspired by the geography and imagination of Indonesia, the project explores the connections between musical traditions, contemporary creation, and free improvisation.
The first part of the concert features the gamelan duo CIRAT Sound. Blending traditional Balinese instruments, live electronics, interactive lighting, and movement, the artists create an immersive auditory and visual experience.
In the second part, four improvisational musicians from Montreal come together to create a living sonic archipelago. What unites these artists is an improvisational approach where gesture, texture, and sound intertwine to create a musical landscape in constant flux.
The activity takes place in all weather conditions, unless safety is compromised
