Air vague
: The crisp, raw rhythms of a drum machine are deconstructed until they become a homogeneous soundscape, upon which acoustic instruments are then layered. A masterful blend of the coolness of electronic sounds and the warmth of the viola and piano. Air vague uses improvisation to manipulate sound, deconstruct conventional instrumental playing, and create a rich and fertile musical universe.
Plant
Playful, radical, chaotic, precise, and demanding, the music of the duo Plant is rooted in a discipline of total improvisation and draws on an energy that pushes toward a loss of control and into the unknown. The duo brings together two musicians with astonishing technical skills. Their technical setup: a plant and an amp, in front of which they create music that is both fragile and of rare intensity. Éric Normand (Canada) and Jim Denley (Australia) have formed the duo Plant since 2012.
