About
Rooty Naky and the Rootables, formed in 2021 in Ottawa-Gatineau, offers a fusion of reggae, neo-soul, Afrobeats, and African influences. Led by Rooty Naky, the collective brings together several musicians united by the values of peace, love, and justice. Active on the local scene (Afrofest, Kichesippi Festival), the group has made a name for itself with its single “SEÏKO” and multilingual performances that celebrate diversity. They will be joined by Haitian-born artist RèN Darah. From childhood, she developed a poetic style of writing that has since evolved into music. Based in Quebec, she crafts a neo-soul sound with Afro-Caribbean influences (zouk, konpa, rara), carried by a jazz voice and lyrics exploring identity, spirituality, and love.
The activity takes place in all weather conditions, unless safety is compromised
