About
*Faire face* is a series of wet collodion portraits in which each person photographed was invited to apply their own “war makeup”—in a symbolic rather than historical sense: a personal ritual marking the threshold between everyday life and the moment of the portrait.
Each image is handcrafted using the wet collodion process, a photographic technique invented in the mid-19th century. A metal or glass plate is coated with collodion, sensitized in a silver nitrate bath, then exposed and developed in just a few minutes, before the emulsion dries. The result remains partially unpredictable, shaped by chemistry and light, giving each photograph a unique texture and character that cannot be replicated.
Exhibition open Thursday through Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Opening reception on Friday, September 11, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The artist will be present every day the exhibition is open.
The activity takes place in all weather conditions, unless safety is compromised
