In our workshop, 1,000 paper
smiles: the polite smile,
the smile that matches the scarf,
the “yuck, creamed spinach” smile,
the class-photo smile,
the “I’m not even scared” smile.
In our workshop, little pieces of paper,
scraps of photos, glue, and scissors.
And under our amazed fingers, a self-portrait!
