About
Kallisto is a Montreal-based band led by clarinetist and composer Dr. Jossée MacInnis. Blending klezmer with Anatolian folk music, Middle Eastern sounds, jazz, and 1970s psychedelic rock, traditions intersect, genres blend, and spontaneity reigns. Since its inception in 2020, the ensemble has evolved into a five-piece rock band, featuring clarinet (Jossée MacInnis), cello (Jefferson Perez), electric guitar (Antoine Bensoussan), electric bass (Patrick Lebrun), and drums (Edward Scrimger). Renowned for its energetic performances, Kallisto has performed at several iconic venues in Montreal, such as Sala Rossa, Quai des Brumes, and Casa del Popolo. The band has also released two EPs, Arcas (2023) and Tigris (2024).
