Jocelyn Gasse - Painting
When I paint, I have fun. Depicting drama has always been part of my artistic journey. Irony and humor are never far away...

About
Jocelyn Gasse lives and works in his studio in Quebec City. A 1973 graduate of the School of Visual Arts at Laval University, he began his career with performance art and sculpture before turning definitively to painting. His work is included in several major public collections, including those of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the Desjardins Art Collection, and the Loto-Québec Collection.
For over 25 years, Jocelyn Gasse has been interested in the study of landscape, particularly the urban landscape. His bold compositions explore themes of death, desolation, chaos, speed, and energy. Executed in acrylic with a lively and confident touch, his highly spontaneous works are defined by turbulent atmospheres, reflecting a world on the brink of disintegration.
