Using the totem card deck, each participant will draw 3 animal cards along with their descriptions. These animals are here to inspire you: they will become the key elements of your artwork. With this symbolic trio, you’ll create your own totem, reflecting your current energy. Then, you’ll get to work with acrylic gouache and Posca markers, drawing inspiration from the powerful styles of Norval Morrisseau, an iconic figure in Canadian Indigenous art, and Romero Britto, known for his vibrant and expressive pop art. Or simply in your own unique way! You’ll learn to stylize, arrange, color, and illustrate your totem freely and intuitively. A vibrant workshop to let go, explore animal symbolism, and have fun with shapes, colors, and patterns. Open to everyone—no artistic experience required.
