About
“The Other Side of Chaos” immerses you in a narrative of empowerment through some fifteen works. This collection offers a reflection on social control, discrimination, and the search for meaning. Reflecting the artist’s personal history, the exhibition touches on profound yet often taboo subjects, such as mental illness and female homosexuality.
Created in a burst of spontaneity over the course of a few months, this project offers a raw and liberating perspective on the chaos of our lives.
Emilia Guillemette works in an automatic style. Starting with preliminary sketches, observational drawings, or photos, she creates imagined worlds. Like a collage, these spaces are an amalgamation of symbolic objects, recurring characters, and scattered words. Through a play of vivid colors and twisted lines, the artist manages to expressively capture human chaos. Finally, she uses simple means and techniques to create atmospheres that hover on the edge of reality.
The activity takes place in all weather conditions, unless safety is compromised
