About
Combining theater, humor, and song, Kotygorochko offers a work that is accessible to all, highlighting the consequences of war on the lives of young adults in their twenties. A timely, powerful, and necessary message.
Inspired by a traditional Ukrainian tale, the play tells the story of a hero born from a pea, endowed with extraordinary strength, who sets out to fight a dragon to save his brothers. Revisited in a contemporary form, this story becomes a sensitive reflection of the journey of young people who fled the war to settle in Quebec.
Through a collective and committed writing process, the nine performers offer a vibrant work that is both poetic and political, celebrating resilience, solidarity, and Ukrainian cultural richness.
A creation by the Montreal-based company Toxique Trottoir, carried by a collective of young Ukrainian artists who recently arrived in Quebec.
The activity takes place in all weather conditions, unless safety is compromised
