The “Legend of Hard Bop” concert, presented by the Quiet Quintet, is a tribute to the memory and legacy of Kenny Dorham, one of the most influential yet underrated trumpeters in African-American jazz of the 1950s and 1960s. Hard Bop, which emerged in the 1950s, infused jazz with energy through influences from blues, gospel, and rhythm and blues. More intense and groovy, it features catchy melodies, percussive rhythms, and fiery solos!
