Patrick Groulx is finally back on stage to present his fifth one-man show: *Trop longtemps seul*. In this show, which is 100% him, he returns to a style of humor that at times recalls the offbeat and wild side he had back in the “Groulx Luxe” days. As candid and irreverent as ever, Patrick now embraces the idea of getting older, even as he’s never felt better, younger, or freer than he does in his fifties. “Too Long Alone” is a show that appeals to all generations—it’ll have you laughing until you cry, give you pause for thought at times, and has that unique, youthful flair that’s so Pat Groulx. For his fifth show, he brings together several comedic elements from his previous performances and treats his audience to pure, unadulterated Groulx. A show that’s just as much fun to see alone as it is with a group of friends! Maybe you’ll even run into Father Poirier and the Sergeant? “One day, my team told me: ‘Pat, you spend too much time alone…’ Apparently, it was showing in my material! I burst out laughing because they were right. I’m 51, my girlfriend is in the Outaouais, and my kids have their own lives now. For the first time in a long while, I’m rediscovering a certain freedom and spending more time on my own. It’s led me to reflect, observe, and philosophize about a whole bunch of zany and pointless—yet incredibly inspiring—things.
