Imagine the astonishment of the Madelinots: they have just realized that their beloved islands have disappeared from the globe, that there is no trace of them on any map. This is the poetic and eventful story told by Madelinot artist and storyteller Cédric Landry in his show, entitled La light du Borgot.
An actor, storyteller, and improviser with exceptional charisma, Cédric Landry masterfully directed Cirque Éloize's show Entre ciel et mer (Between Sky and Sea) in the Magdalen Islands, for which he collaborated on the writing and played the lead role. La light du Borgot, his own creation directed by Michel-Maxime Legault, is the new boat he is launching to bring us the scents of his islands.
For the curious, La light du Borgot is the name of the famous lighthouse in the Magdalen Islands that guides boats through foggy weather to bring them safely to port, but also serves to bring lost souls back to the right path. With his poetry and his penchant for enchantment, Cédric Landry is also proving to be a beacon in the gloom.
